At Second Hand – social event / videoinstallation

The project At Second Hand, was made for Danish Red Cross as a part of the artexhibition Ophørsudsalg in 2005. The project consisted of a collection of old clothes, which the customers in the shop could buy and at the same time they had the possibility to watch two tv-screens, showing old photos from lots of people´s family albums. This way it was made obvious how and by whom all the various clothes in the collection had been used by their previous owners.

Ophørsudsalg was curated and organized by Marie Christine Jacobi, Nanna de Hemmer Widding og Sara Cornelia Greiff. At Second Hand was a developed version of a project made by Sixten Therkildsen for another charity shop in Århus, as a part of the exhibition Videoudadtil, organized by rum46 in 2001.
At second Hand has been documented in a video piece, which has been show in various exhibitions.
