Cruel Geometry is based on a scene from the Andy Warhol structuralist film “Kiss” from 1963. I appropriate a piece of it which I manipulate digitally. I separate the kissing couple turning them back to back. This sort of twist creates an atmosphere of both intimacy and distance.
Crossroads consists of the roadmovies Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (Russ Meyer, 1963) and Stalker (Andrei Tarkovsky ,1979). I have created a “flicker film” in which I mix the two movies by constantly shifting from one movie to the other, frame by frame. Crossroads breaks down the classical narrative film structure and it is a perceptional challenge for the viewer.
